1. What is the configuration setting for my email client?
Procedure for setting-up email accounts in Eudora 5.2:
1. From the menu select Tools -> Personalities.
2. In the provided space right click and select New…
3. From the provided options select Create a brand new email account and click Next
4. In the provided space enter the personality name … For example MyDomain Emailbox and click Next
5. In the provided space enter the name as you want to appear in the outgoing mail and click Next
6. At the space provided for the email address, give your email address … for example xyz@mydomain.com and click Next.
7. Provide the login name, your login name will be <your account name@mydomain.com… for example xyz@mydomain.com, click Next.
8. In the space for Incoming Server and Outgoing server, provide this address: mail.mydomain.com and check “Allow authentication” option and click finish.
Now your MyDomain.com account will be accessible under MyDomain Emailbox personality. You can right click and select Check Mail on this personality account to check the email from the server.
Procedure for setting-up email accounts in Outlook Express 6:
1. From the Menu, select Tools -> Accounts… option
2. In the Internet Accounts dialog box select Add -> Mail…
3. In the presented wizard screen, provide your name in the way it has to appear in the outgoing emails and click Next.
4. Provide the email address … For example xyz@mydomain.com, and press Next.
5. Provide the POP and SMTP server addresses, for your account both the servers will be mail.mydomain.com. Provide this information for both the incoming and outgoing servers and click Next.
6.Provide the Account name as your user name@mydomain.com for example xyz@mydomain.com. Click Next and Finish.
7. Once done please visit Tools->Accounts and select Mail tab.
8. Click on the Email account and select properties.
9. On the server tab, please check “My server requires authentication”. |
